Percursos da pesquisa relacionada ao uso de textos do Antigo Testamento pelo Apocalipse – breve itinerário (Parte I)

Resumo

Resumo: O livro do Apocalipse tem causado, ao longo dos tempos, um certo desconforto àqueles que o investigam por recorrer a um estilo literário ímpar em todo o Novo Testamento e a um simbolismo que zeram desta obra literária um objeto temido e magní co. O uso que o autor do Apocalipse fez dos textos veterotestamentários levou, no último século da pesquisa, a conclusões que oscilavam entre a inexistência de uma sinalização da parte do autor neotestamentário de que um texto antigo estava sendo utilizado, passando pela ausência de citação formal, até ao livre-arbítrio do mesmo autor ao recorrer a textos antigos para melhor comunicar a teologia de sua obra. Esta liberalidade do autor do Apocalipse causou nas abordagens propostas pela pesquisa atual uma insu ciência para solucionar a questão do modo através do qual o autor sagrado recorre aos textos veterotestamentários.

Abstract: e book of Revelation has caused, over time, a certain discomfort to those who investigate it due to its resorting to a unique literary style throughout the New Testament and a symbolism that made this literary work a feared and magni cent object. e use, by the author of the Revelation Book, of Old Testament texts has led, in the last century of research, to conclusions which ranged from the lack of a signaling of the New Testament author that an ancient text was being used, through the absence of formal citation, to the free will of same author to resort to ancient texts to better communicate the theology of his work. is liberality of the Apocalypse author caused, in the approaches proposed by the current research, a failure to resolve the question of the manner in which the sacred author uses the Old Testament texts.
