A Lumen Gentium: ontem, hoje e o Ano da Fé

Resumo: O presente artigo se propõe a refletir sobre a Constituição Dogmática Lumen Gentium do Concílio Ecumênico Vaticano II (1962-1965), ontem e hoje. Inicia com uma breve apresentação de sua gênese dentre os demais documentos deste último Concílio, para, depois, apresentar alguns de seus temas mais importantes. O texto continua com a reflexão sobre a sua recepção, passados quase cinquenta anos de sua promulgação pelo Papa Paulo VI, acontecida no dia 21 de novembro de 1964, destacando alguns momentos significativos deste processo de recepção. Hoje o tema de sua hermenêutica tem se mostrado relevante devido a análises de sua recepção por determinados setores da Igreja, particularmente após o discurso do Papa Bento XVI à Cúria Romana no dia 22 de dezembro de 2005, no qual foram apresentados dois caminhos interpretativos. O artigo finaliza estabelecendo relações entre o Ano da Fé e a Lumen Gentium.

Abstract: This article aims to reflect on the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), yesterday and today. It starts with a brief presentation of its genesis among the other documents of the latter Council, to then, present some of its most important themes. The text continues with a reflection on the receipt, after almost fifty years of its promulgation by Pope Paul VI, which took place on November 21, 1964, highlighting some significant moments of the reception process. Today the subject of its hermeneutics has shown relevance due to analysis of its receipt by certain sectors of the Church, particularly after the speech of Pope Benedict XVI to the Roman Curia on December 22, 2005, in which two interpretive paths were presented. The article concludes by establishing relations between the Year of Faith and Lumen Gentium.
